Beagles are the number one breed used in laboratory experiments worldwide.
In laboratories, all dogs are assigned a number (never a name!) and treated as a piece of equipment and not at all as a living being.
When they are no longer useful for testing, the dogs are usually killed, discarded, and forgotten. The Beagle Freedom Project believes that all dogs deserve to have a name and not a random number and should have access to a home where they can be loved and respected as living creatures.
